Leave it to nature to come up with a shape that is almost haute couture, and for Janet to sketch and cast the humble acorn into a capped jewel. Squirrels hoard these nuts that fall noisily from oak trees, raining onto fallen leaves and crunching under tire. Once in a while, nature also gifts the two acorns attached by their tops. It’s love.

Pull your hair back into a pony and show off these acorns with their magical caps. Who knew acorns were better suited as jewels on your ears than in squirrels’ cheeks? They are a captivating part of nature.

Identify the oak tree by the acorn, which is a nut technically, but it contains the seed of the oak. You’ll have to be quite studied in oakology though. There are more than 600 species of oaks.
